Paris off the beaten track

The Canal Saint-Martin and the Buttes-Chaumont park

Until the 90’s, Paris’ northeastern district was multicultural, working-class, and generally off the tourist trail. Since then, it has undergone gentrification and it is now the perfect setting to enjoy a leisurely walk, away from the bustling city.

We'll explore the Buttes-Chaumont park, one of the lesser-known but most beautiful parks in Paris to discover the fantastic panoramic view from the top of its artificial rocky hill. We'll also stroll along the banks of the Canal Saint-Martin, so romantic with its scenic iron bridges and, weather permitting, we'll sprawl on the grass along the banks to watch the boats passing the locks!
